WHAT IS ANGEL TREE?
Angel Tree, a program of Prison Fellowship®, is the largest national outreach that targets the children of prisoners. Every year Angel Tree works through thousands of local churches and organizations to give Christmas gifts to children on behalf of their incarcerated parents – helping to reconcile inmates and their families to God and to one another, and to stop the generational cycle of crime.

The Crisis
• Approximately 2.7 million children have one or both parents in prison.
• The children of prisoners are times more
likely to live in poverty, and they’re also at
greater risk for a range of emotional and
behavioral problems, like depression and
drug use.
• Approximately half of state and federal
prisoners have not seen their children since
they were incarcerated.
• Half of all inmates (and two-thirds of all female prisoners) have children.
• The vast majority of prisoners are held more
than 100 miles from where their children live.
The Angel Tree Response
• Founded in 1982 by an ex-prisoner, Angel Tree has served inmates and their children for 31 years, touching the lives of more than 9 million children and 5 million inmate parents.
• In 2012 Angel Tree worked with more than
7,800 churches and organizations to reach
more than 360,000 children.

Prisoners’ children all over the country suffer through the confusion and shame that comes with having a parent who is incarcerated. And the reality is, they are at high risk of following in their parents’ footsteps.
Can you imagine what would happen if our communities intervened in the lives of these hurting children . . . if someone stepped in and told them they are loved, valued, and have a parent in Heaven who will never leave them? That is what Angel Tree does all throughout the year.
With your gift to Angel Tree Prison Fellowship in partnership with the KenTra Care Organization, you give these boys and girls the support they need all throughout the year and introduce them to the Father in Heaven who loves them.
Through the delivery of a Christmas gift and the Gospel given on behalf of the incarcerated parent, Angel Tree boys and girls are given the free gift of salvation, feel loved and remembered by their parent, and experience the simple joys of the Christmas season. Angel Tree also provides ministry to the children through its summer camping program and promotes family reconciliation through discipleship and mentoring.
Lives are change, familes are reunited and God is glorified. What a great investment. Please donate today!
